I just finishied my insatll of v9 and also experienced nasty problems. The worst of which is when I gave up trying to use the chrash-every-90-secounds-v9 I find it has disabled my photo editor in v7.5. I've seen all the post on v9 and I'm frankly amazed it was ever released? Let me state clearly that I am an enduser not a tech user. I have no skills in any of the trouble shooting suggetions about operating sytems, driver updates, configuration adjustments. Had I known that was required to upgrade I would not have wasted my or Roxio's time. My computer is a Dell 6400 running XP pro with auto updates. I've sucessfully installed MS Office Pro 2003, Dreamweaver 8, Abode Acrobat 7 Pro, MS SQL Personal 2000 and Roxio 7.5. None of these install required a degree in PC hardware or operating systems. I'm very disappointed in Roxio.

A new thread was started for your post, because it had nothing to do with the OP's problem in the other thread.
If you don't know anything about updating drivers and other computer maintenance, you need to have a friend, who is computer savy, help you.

Thanks for the tip about getting a friend to help update. I wont beat a dead horse. I'm out of my league with this kind of issue and will simply discontinue using v9. I'll make my best effort to reinstall 7.5 and stick with it. I was impressed with 7.5 and had no problems using it and got several valuable tips from these forums when the issue was related to using the product. In defense of all us endusers these v9 insatll and hardare incompatibilities should never reached us.
My computer system exceeds all Roxio hardware & software requirements. At least according to Per-sales and Tech Support.
My computer is:
Dell
Inspiron 6400, Intel Core Duo processor T2250 (2MB/1.73GHz/533MHz)
15.4 Inch Wide-screen WXGA Display for Inspiron 6400/E150

80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive for Inspiron 6400/E1505
Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2, English, for Inspiron
Integrated 10/100 Network Cardand Modem, for Inspiron

I am an enduser, like you. I uninstalled EMC 7.5, prior to installing EMC 9, then installed EMC 7.5 again, and both get along nicely. When I did the install, the other way around, I did have problems with both suites.
Your computer has the horses to run the program. There is a conflict with another program that you have on your computer. Try disabling any startup items that run when you boot your computer, via msconfig, and see if that makes the computer more stable.
To do this, click on Start, then on Run, then in the text box, type in msconfig, then click on ok. When the next screen comes up, click on the Startup tab. Uncheck RoxWatch, Drag to Disc, and most other boxes that are check. Most of them are not needed.
Once you are done, click on Apply, then click on OK, and reboot your computer. When you get into Windows, put a check in the box to the lower left of the pop-up, then click ok. You won't get that annoying pop up box at startup, then.
