When I attempt to burn my authored DVD the drop down box where I would select the DVD drive I wish to burn my project onto states that there is no disc/media in the drive however, there is DVD media in the DVD burner drive and it's blank.

I burned a DVD with the same process before, but for some reason the MyDVD app in EMC9 won't allow me to go forward this time. I'm using basic settings i.e. NTSC, MPEG-2, DVD quality, etc.

Any ideas for this hopefully simple question?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure that you update the firmware for your burner.  Did you change brand/type of media from your last burn?

I am seeing the exact effect.  I have done firmware updates on both burners in my computer, but that did not help.  I upgraded from EMC 8 to try to solve the sudden loss of media import function that is described by users in that forum. I suspect either a Windows autoupdate patch conflict. Media Import crashed in 8, just doesn't see the drives in 9.

Are your drives visible in my computer and device manager? Can you play a CD DVD with a drive?
What apps in v9 aren't the drives visible?
Does DVDInfo Pro under applications, utilities show the drives?
