Playing VCD's on computers. My VCD will play on settop DVD's but not on computers?

I created a VCD slideshow with picts and audio tracks which will play on my DVD attached to my TV's but it won't play on my laptop DVD player or in my desktop CD player/burner. Should it play on computers and if so how do I get it to play?

Open WMP then click file open. Navigate to the vcd change the WMP drop down, file type to all files. It should show like music01 dat file. Click it open, your vcd should now play.

Can't find a "music01 dat file" option. I get the following error from WMP:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found."

What WMP do you have? If you have power DVD or WinDVD try to play the dat file in them, play media files.
