I first had Roxio7 and now 8 and have found after creating a DVD or video project and burning a few copies, the files suddenly "disappear" and I can't run it anymore! The last time, I burned 8 copies and after an hour or so went to burn another and couldn't access the movie anymore...no files found! Anyone know why this keeps happening!!!???

Please describe the steps you did.
What version of EMC8 do you have (suite, deluxe)?
When you said "couldn't access the movie anymore", what actual message were you getting?
Did you try to use the Explorer to search for the file(s)?

I didn't do anything other then get it ready to burn, as I did 8 other times. If I try to edit or validate the project it says all files are missing...tried to search but no results. This happened with Roxio7 last year, but it tended to just lose the odd file, and I would have to add a pix or 2 in the dead frame. I have Roxio 8 Suite. I now have a new system so it can't be that and I tried system restore to an earlier day but the files are still gone. When I click on the menu all I see for the movie is an empty box.The menu plays the photo and music originally placed there, but click on the movie and it goes nowhere. The estimated size of the project in the lower panel shows the correct size of the DVD when it was all good(949 MB)

When doing validation, there are options presented. One of them (I'm not in front of PC with EMC) shows the path(s) of missing files. Have you checked those paths presented in that dialogue box?

The window for the validating doesn't say it but if I try to edit the project, that screen comes up...I have checked thru that and still zippo!

Did you happen to move those missing files to another location/folder?

Not that I am aware of. In this case, having them all go missing is a little wierd, but why,in the past, only a few? Are there certain files that don't go well with this program. I tend to do video and pix for a team, and add music. Pretty simple...but in the past as well, after a few weeks the saved projects tend to lose info.??

You mentioned you did system restore. What exactly did it do?

I have nothing else to offer. Perhaps someone will stop by to offer suggestion.
