Last evening I purchased and downloaded EMC9. The install appeared to go flawlessly. Upon execution of the product I have found that even utilizing the elevator button on the startup page to attempt to scroll up and down the "tips" reacts so slowly that I think it has hung the computer. Then, after a long wait, it scrolls down. If I want to scroll further down there is a long latency period (20 or more seconds) before it scrolls down once more.
Every portion of the product reacts so slowly that I opened Windows Task Manager and what to my wonderin eyes should appear, no, not a jolly old man but rather I encountered the program indicated "not responding" for a period of time, then it would indicate responding. This continues throughout the usage of the program. I am running XP Professional SP2 on a dual core AMD chip with 2GB matched RAM.
With any other program on my system the performace is unbelievably fast, not so with EMC9. No wonder it is on sale for 1/2 price!! Not only does the program not respond quickly at all, but there is no manual to print out to assist in using the program. It doesn't cost any more to add the .pdf file to the program!! For crying out loud!@
I am frustrated. Have attempted to solve the problem using Roxio's web-base tech support with no success.
Has anyone had this same issue of the program running so slowly?
Program runs at a handicapped snail's pace!

Thanks for the suggestions! I appreciate them very much.
Thanks to you, I have downloaded the manual...now I have to find a color printer at work so I can grind up their printer and not go through my own ink cartridges!!
I will allow EMC9 some time to "settle down". I tried your suggestions for the slow behavior of the program. Sadly, they did not work. After much consternation, I deinstalled the program and performed a new install. This time the program seems to be behaving much better. It is still considerably slower than I would like, but it is not so slow as to cause me to have a "royal meltdown"!
I have to remember that even my last version of EMC v7, it still was somewhat slow in loading and performing tasks. Silly me, I figured that two major releases later that these problems would most certainly been remedied. Go figure!
EMC9 appears to be capable of many more tasks than EMC7 so I will try not to whine too loudly because this program is certainly worth the $45 USD I paid for it last night!
Thanks for you help!

Yes, the program is worth the money. It should be expected that this software is more demanding on a computer than EMC 7. It does a ton more than EMC 7 did.
Life is good!
