Since installing emc 9 my dvd player nor media player will play dvd's

You'll need to give us lots more info.  Computer specs to start and what other software you have installed. What version of Windows Media Player do you have?
Could be a conflict with another program.

Windows media center, dual core 3 ghz pent d processor i also have clonedvd2 and anydvd and medial player 11... and 500 gig sata2 hd

Ah, my bet is AnyDVD is causing the problem. Try either removing it or 'turn it off' and see where that gets you.

Seriously - try uninstalling as suggested and see if that cures the problem
