If you're making DVDs for personal use, Creator is fine. DVDit Pro HD targets professionals such as Independent film makers who want to put their movie on DVD but with a snazzy menu. DVDit has far more flexibility then Creator and has many professional options that the consumer probably wouldn't be concerned with such as writing to DLT or putting volume information on the DVD. If you have no interest in HD video then it wouldn't make sense to buy the HD version, but the regular pro version has some functionality that even consumers want. Take for example subtitles, multiple audio tracks, or complex menu navigation.
