I cannot create chapters for a DVD project. I can access Edit Chapters screen, create chapters, but cannot link them to a menu button. I checked help screen and it indicated that there should be a GENERATE CHAPTER MENU(S) AND LINK TO SELECTED BUTTON check box. I do not have that check box. Any suggestions?

Also make sure you have updated your video card drivers and DirectX. BOTH are very important.

DirectX is a Microsoft graphics engine - it's part of the Operationg System and should be updated as necessary

You can check to see what version of DirectX you are running by going to START--RUN and enter DXDIAG.
You should be running version 9.0c.

Microsoft has updated 9.0c several times without changing the number or letter. The Oct 2006 was the last update.

You're right about the latest DirectX Gary. I have updated my DirectX several times in the past and it still has the same number and and letters (i.e. 9.0c--4.09.0000.0904). One would think that once you updated, at least there would be a different number, even if it does still say 9.0c.
Just in case others are thinking about updating their DirectX, you should use "System Restore" and make a restore point prior to updating, just in case something goes wrong.
