edit windows not working in EMC 9 image editor and sound editor not working in videowave

hello,
just wondering if anyone else has experienced or knows how to deal with the sound and image editors that are part of videowave. If I double click on a background music file in my slideshow or right-click and hit "edit" nothing happens. Same for the image editor. I have restarted my computer and tried reinstalling EMC 9 with the same result. Please help!

system specs:
HP Pavilion dv9040us
2GB, 240 GB HD, Windows XP SP2, nVidia GeForce GO 7600
