R6025 - pure virtual function call (VideoWave 9) ... and can't launch PhotoSuite9

I've selected a new 16:9 project, I added a couple of images and when I try to add a transition....
Error: R6025 - pure virtual function call.
I've tried with PhotoSuite but I can't launch this App. I've not checked anymore programms, I've just uninstalled EMC 9 and by now I use EMC 8 that seems to work fine. (Well, there is another problem with DVD menus...)
A pure virtual function is a not implemented function, it requieres a derived class, maybe a missing .dll ???
I've installed the spanish version, should I use the english language ?

It seems this error could be related to other software on your system. Do you have other burning software on your system besides Roxio?

I'm not sure what's causing this and not to put it off on Microsoft but, it is a Microsoft error. Could this be related to MCE 2005? Don't know. Check the MS knowledge base and see if there are any suggestions.

I've formated my pc again.....installed SP2, the latest drivers for my GeForce 6600 and then EMC9..
It's working fine by now.....*sigh*....
I think that EMC people must develop a kind of "system test" that you could use before install (no matter what version of EMC software), to detect some software/hardware conflict.
I have not installed all the software I use daily...maybe I'll find some black hole.

It's a pain to reinstall, I know, I do it yearly but now that you have it working, you may want to make an image of your drive so if you have to do this again, for any reason, you're up and running in a jiffy.

The error is reported by environment EMC was programmed in, so it's really a Roxio problem, or at least not only Microsoft.

Format C:/ And the last that I saw, you were using the Trial version. There are separate places to post under the Trial Version, and that is where you should be posting, not in the main EMC 9 forums.

Do you know what grade IT students get at university when they say 'format c: and reinstall system to make my software behave properly'? F + nice share of shame.
If error notification falls back to supporting libraries that means that programmers made a mistake and don't service all errors properly. (In this case objects of derived class are instantiated, but pure virtual function for their class is not redefined.)

If you are still having this issue, go here ( kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Photosuite/000110CR )
and do what it says. Also, get rid of WMP11. It worked for me. I am FINALLY able to run EMC9 applications.

This doesn't have to be this difficult. No BIG fix to do. Just go to Start and Click on it. Click Run...type in services.msc. Go down to the Roxio services and START them. Restart videowave and voila! You are ready to make a movie.
