videowave 8 not responding

hello, new user here for videowave and mydvd 8. my computer is pretty stock, i bought it when i didnt have any intentions for editing video, i have an 80gig hard drive, and 512MB for memory, not sure what kind of video card i got but my problem is everytime i edit a video i downloaded from Tivo, the program hangs. im not sure if its the amount of RAM i have is not enough or the video card sucks. i just need to edit some videos and burn them to dvd. please help.

Please provide at least a little more information on your computer at least the manufacturer and model number; we can take some guess from there.   Go to Belarc Advisor and download/run that program (free).  You will get a lot of information from that program.  

At a minimum, update your computer to Microsoft's latest version of DirectX 9c.  You will probably need to update your video card drivers but until you can provide more information, we can't help you find them.  

Once you get that straightened out, we can help with the TiVo files.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
