Is it my computer or Roxios software that takes over 3 hours to burn about 1.5 hrs. of video to a DVD??? It takes almost 3 hours just to encode it, then maybe a half hour or so for the actual burning. Why is it doing this? Is that actually normal? And why can't I contact Roxio via the net?

Long DVD Burning Time

The encoding does take a very long time - it's extremely CPU intensive unfortunately
Commercial rendering is done on 'computer farms' (a LOT of computers, multi-cores and loads of RAM)
3 hours is round about normal for a home PC - it may be slightly faster with a dual core CPU
1/2 hour for the burn - it depends on the speed of your burner and also the rating on the media (all DVDs have a small track telling the drive what their rated speed is and it will not go above that

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
