I burned a DVD using toast. when i watch the dvd on my mbp, if i press the right arrow(for skipping to the next chapter) it won't skip. the only way for me to skip to the next chapter would be to press menu in dvd player and then select the desired chapter.

the source file were vob files.

You may be confusing the terms "chapters" and "titles". If they show up in the main menu they are titles and are not accessible with the chapter skip key in DVD Player. DVD Player's Go menu has an option for selecting different titles on a disc without returning to the menu. There also is a keyboard shortcut to return to the DVD's menu. It is Command-accent (`) and you can use the arrow keys in the menu to advance to other title selections.

Chapters are within Titles. You won't see chapters in a menu unless you chose Include Scene Menus for Video prior to burning the DVD.
