Hey folks. I'm driving myself nuts here trying to install Roxio 6 into my recently upgraded computer. I have MORE than enough of everything to run 6. However, I get this error message whenever I install: certificate not initialzed. Initialzed, that's right. Not a typo. I don't even know what "initialzed" MEANS. Anyhow, if I push through and install Roxio 6 then I get the "The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction" message and none of the audio works. Why oh why is this so difficult??!? Anyhow, ANY help is much appreciated! Thanks!!!

Never heard of this before. Precisely what steps are you following to install Toast? Did you purchase it as a download or on disc?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I purchased the Roxio 6 Easy CD & DVD Burning software package today at Staples. It wasn't a download. In fact I purchased 2 of the same software (one was a gift) and I have had the same installation problem w/ both discs, so the error does not lie in a defective ROM. My computer has just been given an upgrade a several virus/spyware sweeps so I don't think a virus is the problem. For what it's worth the error code AFTER the "Certificate not initialzed" error code was:

"The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction"

c:\docume~1\MO\decice~1.exe

Thanks again!

Now I know why I've never encountered this problem. This is the Toast 6 forum for Macintosh users. The forum that is for your Roxio application is Here.

Try searching that forum and if the answer isn't there post a new thread.
