My DVD for Canon Unable to transfer video form camcorder to computer

I have My DVD for Canon software to use with a new Canon DC22 camcorder. Everytime I try to transfer a dvd of pictures to the computer the program cause a fault and closes. I have reinstalled the software 3 times and the problem still exists. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
