Hi: I am using MyDVD 8 to create a home DVD. I have about 6 MPEG files I have added to my project. When I click on burn DVD and hit Start, it starts fine but always get stuck half way where it says "Current Task: Encoding Movie 7 of 7 (9%)". I have waited multiple times more than 6 hours. I have downloaded and installed all the updates. The total size of all the MPEGs together is less than 2.5G. Anybody else seen the same issue?

Thanks in Advance
Ray

File Size is meaningless in Video. The only measurement is length of project…

If you are seeing warning messages and ignoring them then you will have to shorten your project.

If all is well, try removing that 7th clip and see what happens. Burn to File rather than waste media.

At least yours started - my "burn" menu is greyed out even after setting everything up. This seems to happen now and then... typical EMC 8 ?

You will have to supplyr some information about what your are trying to do, what your are using, your system specs, etc before anybody can even think about a solution.

From reading this thread and several other like it I am fast coming to the conclusion that, whist there may be a few bugs to iron out in EMC8 the major probem is 'user learning curve'.
I got really frustrated with EMC8 and it was only with guru help on this site that most of my elementary problems were sorted.
So, my very early conclusion is that if there is a problem with EMC8 is it's complexity for beginner and if Roxio have a failing it is in not recognising this totally. Perhaps a few wizards for the most popular jobs such as burning DVD's from recorded TV progs. etc.

The alternative is to make it clear in the sales literature that some aspects of EMC8 are not really for the beginner.
