Hello:

I just installed Roxio Easy Media Creator, I think correctly.
However when I double click on the icon, it brings up a few error messages
though the Roxio Create Home panel eventually shows up.

Please wait while windows configures DAO

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product DAO. The Windows installer cannot continue.

IDriver.exe - Application Error - the instruction at "0x771b711c: referenced memory at "0x00087518".
The memory could not be "read".

InstallDriver Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks in advance:
Michael Yanowitz

It's all explained here:
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?...2129&hl=dao

If you don't want to read, just uninstall DAO and call it a day. It's a common error.

I've just resolved the same problem after installing EMC 9. I Googled the issue and found that mercifully the problem had been resolved on the EMC 8 forum which I've copied here.

The fix was in two stages:

1- Unregister DAO by typing or cut and pasting the following in the Start, Run box:
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
Click OK.

2- Then similarily re-register DAO by pasting in the following line:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
Click OK.

And yes, I do have an AIW 9000 card.
My acknowldgements to those on the other forums who resolved this. Thank you. You've saved me much fretting.
