New at this software and it does not repond to anything I try to do . I cant even playback a blu ray commercial disk in the software. I was under the impression the I could make copies a blu ray commercial disk to a blank blu ray disk. Am I wrong?

DVDit 6 HD is for authoring Blu-ray disc and not make copies or playback commercial disc.

Seriously- you need to do a bit more research before spending your money!! Not to mention, there wont be anything in the near future that will do this- let's hope.

Ok,
Got  it to record an mpeg movie from my computer, but it wont do a avi movie, how come?
Oh by the way $175.00 from Roxio isnt a bad price to pay to experiment with this software, so dont be concerned with me spending my money

I'm sorry- I don't really know what you mean by "record"

You can import AVI files to this software and at the time of burning disc (or writing volume) it will transcode it to Mpeg2.

yudabest, Blu-ray discs you purchase in a store have AACS copy protection.  theoretically, you will never be able to copy them to BD-R...though there is supposed to be some "managed copy" in the specification...not sure how that works though.

Yes,
Transcode is what I meant.Anyway I got it to recognize other types by downloading more codecs. Copies work in my computer but I realize it wont work in my playback unit in my family room because I have a Samsung with the upgraded firmware. I heard the Panasonic model should playback the transcoded disc.
