We'd need a bit more information

What are your system specifications?
Have you installed the latest drivers from the maker's website?
Do you have the latest DirectX 9.0c installed?

If dxdiags says it's working (you see the spinning cube on the test) then it should be fine

Did you get the latest drivers from nVidia (NOT the Dell ones or MS ones - they tend to be quite a bit out of date)?

I'm scratching my head here trying to understand why it won't install

A no-brainer - is Windows XP installed as the primary OS (on the first h/d partition as Drive C)?

Are you dual-booting with another OS?

I'm at a complete loss here to be honest. I do know this thread has been reported to Roxio so we may have to wait a bit until they get back to us.

The only other thing I can think of (and it's so far-fetched that I doubt it it's the cause) is that it may be trying to install in 'emulation' modee - but that has to be deliberately selected from the file properties.

I do know that the suite won't install in anything earlier than 2K with SP4

Dumb question, are you signed in as administrator trying to install the software?  If that won't work, make a new user account with administrator privileges and try to install it from the new user account.

Boy, just about everything being asked has been O.K. One question that hasn't been answered yet---Where did you get the EMC 9 program from ?? It's very doubtful, but the program might be a bogus one. Also, have you contacted Dell regarding the problem of why certain programs might not want to install on their computer and give them a description of the errors you are getting ?

I finally got the program to install.

I went to the file properties and saw where it said this program was downloaded from another program and had been blocked for security reasons.  I unchecked it and it ran the installation complete and everything appears to be fine.

This program has been very hard to get working.  It took me 3 downloads and all this with the security settings to work.  I have never seen this with the security settings on anything that i have ever downloaded before.

Thanks for all the input and Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!
