Why does EMC9 install programs you can't unselect during the install? I don't want Cineplayer, interactual player, or back up my pc installed, EVER, but there is no option to not install these programs during the install process.

Some of the stuff is interactive with other parts of the suite and is needed
You could try removing sections from add/remove programs
Roxio aren't the only ones to do it - after all, how many people do you know who use MSN Explorer for web browsing, yet it's installed in XP whether you want it or not?

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Some programs give you the option and some don't and I don't know why. But, you should be able to manually uninstall them if you choose thru the control panel.

You won't find any help in the control panel, sorry. Once the install is done the only options you have there are, EMC9, Content, Drag to Disk, and that ringtone program. That's it.
When you do a custom install, you actually have a bit more control. I really can't remember if what you don't want can be unselected. Pretty sure you can opt to not install back up. But Cineplayer, think that might just be core and not selectable.
By the way, Interactual player is not part of the Roxio suite. That's a piece of garbage from Warner Brothers DVD's.
Sorry no advice to you now that you have the program installed. You do realize that only Drag to Disc uses any system resources at start up - right? And the hard drive use is really minimal space for those things you don't want...

Interactual player (a Sonic Solutions product) is part of the install, I believe its part of the Cineplayer install. This was discussed in a previous thread. Search for Interactual
