I have been trying to burn stored video files from my hard-drive to writable media (cd and dvd+r, -r, +rw, -rw) for playback on a recently purchased Sony RDR-HXD560 dvd recorder (multi format capable).
The files transfer and burn fine but the discs refuse to be recognised or played by the Sony despite the fact that discs created on the Sony can be played back ok by Media Center on my Dell Dimension 5150 PC (also multi format capable).
Can anyone please enlighten me as to why the dvd recorder will not play the discs from the PC but the computer will play the discs created on the Sony?
Is it a disc formatting incompatibility between the two devices or am I missing something when burning to cd and dvd on the computer?

Have you tried different brand(s) of media, also if you were using + disc's try - ones.

Does it play in another external player.

If it plays on your computer the software appears to have done its job.
