I'm trying to burn 13 video files onto a DVD. Each file is in .avi format and each is around 200 MB in size. The DVD capacity is 4.7 GB. This would lead me to believe that I have enough space to put them on there. However, when I put them all into Toast, it says that their combined size is almost 8 GB. I'm not sure why it says that or if there's anything I can do to fit them all on there. I could burn them on separate DVDs, I guess, but it seems ridiculous to only be able to fit three or four videos on one disc.

Are you just wanting to keep them as AVIs or are you trying to make a video DVD from them?
If you just want them burned to DVD media then use the Toast Data window. If you want them converted to video DVD use the Video window. Converting them to video DVD requires re-encoding to MPEG 2 which takes much more space.

I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks, I realize what the deal is now. I should have done more research. You guys have already answered this several times.
