Tried to download the 8.05 update results were as follows.
1 Logged on as a resistered user. Note the computer that the retail EMC 8.00 is loaded is NOT connect to the internet and can NOT be connected. So I have registered with a differnt computer, which seems to have worked.
2 Clicked on: Software Updates - Easy Media Creator 8
3 Clicked on: EMC80_805_Update.exe - 114.0 MB download
4 Takes me to: Patch my current software Download Patch.
5 Takes me to: Software Updates
Please select your product and version from the menu below to see available updates.
Easy Media Creator - Version 8.x
6 It all starts over with no download.
7 Tried to post a job ticket, web self service tells me my password is bad, however when I click on new user it says I am logged on and and give me my correct information. But will not let me post a web service request.
8 I am able to log into and go into the my Roxio so I know the login and password is correct.
I hope someone has an answer to this. Thank you for your help.

Try holding down your "ctrl" key when you click on the orange "Download Patch" button. It should open a window giving you the opportunity to "run" or "save" or "cancel" a file download.
Also, have you tried shutting your computer down, doing a cold reboot and then logging into the site all over again? Just wondering if your login didn't register properly.
I'm no "guru," but I've been where you are and appreciated any help I could get. Nothing I've suggested will hurt your PC.
good luck,
lou

None of these ideas help. And they do not explain why I can not use the help services.
It would be nice if anyone had any real information in regards to this problem. Then it would be even better if Roxio/Sonic had any real service. They make it even worse; when I registered EMC8 they sent me two emails advertising EMC8. Trying to sell me a product that I just told them I purchased??? It is starting to look like I will not be recomending this product to anyone. And all because the makers have made it a very diffuclt issue to get any question answered, or to even ask them a question for that matter.
If anybody out there knows a way to contact Roxio/Sonic please let me know.

Temporarily disable your pop up blockers, internet security, and maybe virus software Once you get to the actual download and start downloading it, I think that you can put them up again.
Life is good!
