I use Windows XP with the new browser 7 that just came out.

1.  From the Roxio main program after clicking on anything that activates videowave, like edit video for example, I receive an error that I have a NIVIDIA GeForce4 video driver and it may need to be updated.  I checked windows update and I checked nividia and I have the latest update, I believe it was dated 2003, don't quote me on that.

But that is the minor iritant.

2.  If I drag one mpg to the videowave editing platform things are fine.  I think hitting the output button to create the edited mpg works fine at this point.  I'm going to reverify that after this post.  I have a lockup problem and won't risk locking up while in the middle of writting this.

3.  If I click the edit button (scissors) and screen pops up I can edit mpg fine without any errors.

4.  However, if I click the main play button from the main videowave screen it plays a few seconds of the video then freezes the picture while continueing playing the sound.  At the end it locks up and I have to do a cold boot.

5.  If I drag a second mpg to the videowave editing platform, it freezes.  Ctrl alt Delete shows videowave is using 95% of the resources but it never quits doing whatever it is that it was doing.

If I go to burning dvd and try to arrange the dvd with the videowave screen it uses for arranging menu items I get the same exact lockups as noted above.  If I use that simplier divx creater where you toss things onto it and it shows a penant of those files that you put into it I have gotten no errors.

Another thing.  In Roxio 7 when I moved a file to the main menu it put a picture there (first frame of mpg) with editable text.  9.0 didn't put a picture there but just the editable text.  I hope that is changable.  I haven't done a lot of experimenting because the lockups are a pain.

1.15 GHz is pretty bottom end (especially when it comes to rendering)

You could try updating your graphics from the www.nvidia.com and also update DirectX to the latest 9.0c (December 2006) version
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

It appears that with your computer, you can burn data CD's and DVD's, and music CD'S, but not much else with the software.

You can find the minimum requirements for the software, here:

I upgraded cpu to amd3000 which is 2.0 ghz.  Problems with videowave still the same.  Yes I did uninstall and reinstall roxio.  When I play the movie in videowave computer locks up and requires a cold boot.  When I ad a second mpg to list for videowave computer locks up and requires ctrl alt del to close the file.

I have latest video drivers and I have 9.0 direct x.

I do have ie7 and I'm thinking maybe I'll try Nero.  I don't want to jump through hoops to get a program to work well on my computer, better to seek out a program that actually works and use it.

I also now get the mpeg-2 codec error.

Another error.  I don't receive email notification when someone post to this thread even though I set it up to do email notifications.

Tell you what since their customer service also sucks I just won't use any of their products ever again.  I'll also tell everyone I know to not use their products as well.
