I purchased EMC9 after reading a great review from our local newspaper tech guy..... and I wanted to consolidate various media applications that reside on my PC. I dove right into the install and faced a terminal hang-up at start. Nothing would budge the lock-up.... hard re-boot...F8....drop kick....etc. I re-installed XP Pro, rebooted and started reading the support forum. I have tried everything suggested from uninstalling anything related to media creation and disabling zone alarm and norton.... all to no avail. After many hours and the loss of my legacy media burning apps, that did work.... I have come to the realization that this program will not work on many systems for no apparent reason. There is most likely no way to re-coup the $99 and certainly not my time. Does anyone have some last attempt magic before I engage in a stressful conversation at the 1-888 phone number?
My system is a 2 year old 2.4 P4 with 1m ram and huge external hard drives..... with my media files.
Thanks for any help.

At the risk of repeating the obvious - did you update your video drivers to the latest from the VIDEO card maker's site, and did you install DirectX 9.0c (December release?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

I am in the same situation. I have been working with this software since before Christams. This morning I saw my computer do something that I have never seen (trying to unistall Drag-to-Disc) which I read on this forum to fix one of the applications hanging up. After some very intense momets I was able to restore to a point that I had created yesterday and now I'm back to having the old problems:
Windows media player will not open
everytime I open an application I get the register screen
Music Dsic creator will not open
I have had it! I will call to day and demand a refund. I cannot take any more chances with this stupid program.

If Drag to Disc was running in your tray, when you tried to uninstall it, it could have caused a problem if XP actually let you try to uninstall it.
