Using Sonic MyDVD 6.1 Motion Menus with MyDVD9

1. I open up MyDVD9
2. I go to "DVD Menu", then "Change Menu Background"
3. On the left, I go to "Desktop", then "My Computer", C: drive (or whatever you main drive is named), "Program Files", "Sonic", "MyDVD Studio Deluxe Suite", "Sonic MyDVD Studio Deluxe Suite", "Styles", "NTSC" or "PAL" depending on your location, then I double click on the style folder. For this example, I am going to choose "Assorted Sports 1"
4. I double click "Assorted Sports 1", then I'm choosing "Soccer". Because I am choosing the menu BACKGROUND and not the audio yet, the audio will not show up on this screen. I'm clicking on "Soccer" motion menu to select it, then clicking on OPEN. This will take me directly back to the MyDVD9 menu window, and my motion menu background will be in place.
5. Since most of the motion backgrounds came with great audio clips, now I will click on "DVD Menu" then "Set Menu Audio". This takes me back to look around for the audio and since it takes me back to the last place I came from, now I can just click on the "Soccer" audio file, then click on OPEN. I am again back at the main MyDVD9 menu.
6. To check that the menu looks and sounds the way I want, I click the "Animate Preview" button (it's a yellow square with a green play triangle in it).
Hope this helps others that spent a lot of money on motion menus (like I did) so that you can still get lots of use from them.

I just upgraded also from ver6 & was real disappointed in the choice of menus. In you version how many
meun/backgrounds show up for you. My d/l copy only had 3...... bouquet, seasons & beach. I've been told I need to install the contents.............wasn't a separate file when I purchased the d/l, it was just one big file.
Now when I click on more styles inside Mydvd9, it sends me to the website to purchase them.
Version 6, was a whole lot more user friendly. Any help would be appreciated.

Those styles that you go to are for version 8 and won't work in version 9. I think I have 35 or so menu choices in EMC 9.
Ok, it looks like you don't have the full version of EMC 9. I have no clue what MyDVD Premier 9 has included. I'll take a look.
EDIT: I looked at the home page and saw nothing about the number of menus.

I have EMC 9, but I don't believe Squirrley does. The 35 menus that I have are more than enough for me.

You are right ,all I have is MYDVD 9 Premiere..................
If you compare the differance on Roxio website between Mydvd9 Premiere & EMC9 , emc9 has music capability, & mydvd9 premiere doesn't.
I didn't need Music, so I choose My dvd9 Premiere.
Maybe this version only has 3 default menus/styles, but in the past we got 20-30 (like you got in EMC9) with MYDVD program & it was very disappointing if this is the case. Since they have made MYDVD a standalone package , I would think it would have the same amount of style/menus as emc9, Since the only differance is music & styles/menus are mostly used for dvd/cds.
Hopefully I will hear back from Tech support Monday.

Actually, there are a lot more differences than just the music, but they aren't shown in the comparison chart.
I would think that you would get more than 3 menu styles, if you have the Premiere version, but I don't know. I guess you will have to wait to see what Tech support says.
