I upgraded from Creator 6 to Creator 9. After using version 9 for a few days of converting analog input from my 78 rpm collection,  the command to burn crashed and I received the message "RXBurn.exe has encountered an error and needs to close". I removed 9 and reinstalled 6 and got the same message when I tried to burn. I tried another burn software by Microsoft and was able to burn although more slowly and with limited effect control. My thanks to  anyone who can help solve this "error" message for me.
In addition, I want to vent some considerable frustrations in attempting to get support from Roxio. I've used a computer for many years and am not a novice but I must say Roxio has been the most devious software provider that I have ever run into trying to get technical support. Every avenue in the search for technical support is on their terms. Finally was able to sign up on this discussion group and will be grateful for any response. If unsuccessful. may try the route of another member to get a refund from Roxio. It's my last purchase from them.

Thanks for response. Sorry, that's about all the info. Version 9 worked for a while and then crashed as above. Uninstalled v9, reinstalled v6 and got the same message which had one word different than in my original post. "RXBurn.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close----". Other software does burn CDs, so assume the problem is not in the CD recording system. That's all the information I have and I'm struggling also with the lack of additional info.  Looks like another unsolved mystery.

What I was looking for is what program in the suite you were using, and the procedure you were using.  Did you install any software, lately?

You could try a repair on the software through Add/Remove Programs, but if you are getting the same error on 2 different programs, I don't know if that will work.

VOILA! Thanks Grandpa Bruce for your time on this. I ran a Windows search on everything that could be Roxio or "Creator" after uninstalling both version 6 and 9. Then reinstalled v9 again. I've run a sample 78rpm  input, sound editing and burning and all seems well. I remember this inablility to burn started after I used the automatic track marker or divider. I put about 22 78s on each CD. Don't see how that could have any effect. I think the big lesson here is--- be sure you have fully uninstalled a previous version before going to "9". Good to chat with a fellow veteran  Bill Mossman WWII 1944-46

High fives to you!  I wish I could get ahold of some of my Dad's old 78's, but I think that they got lost in the shuffle, many years ago. :)

My dad (deceased) was a POW for a year, in Germany, during the "Big One".
