I installed EMC 8 last night, but I didn't try using it until today. The problem is that it isn't recognizing that there is a blank disc in the drive. It just keeps telling me to insert a disc. I have tried putting the disc in before it tells me to, as well as after, but nothing has worked so far. I read something that said it could be the discs that I'm using. I doubt that though, because I have used about six or seven before out of the 50 pack that I bought, and they all worked fine. All advice is welcome, and will be very appreciated. Thanks
Please help!

Try going into Device Manager, delete the drive and reboot. (Win-Pause – Hardware tab – Device Manager button)
This will force XP to redetect and install the drive. Hopefully it will get it working…

I tried that, and it's still saying that I need to insert a disc. But thank you anyway.

Delete the IDE channel the drive is on, usually the secondary IDE channel. Reboot and have a look see.
In v8 tools DVDInfo Pro, place a disc in the drive and see what pro has to say about it. I would be interested what Brand the media is and what Pro gives for a media ID on those DVD's.
