I have installed and re-installed EMC9 several times in an attempt to overcome an error window when I try to use the Auto ID Tag that is supposed to read my audio file and find the track information. A Windows Installer Message Window pops up and tells me that it cannot find the "Napster Burn Engine.msi".
The same window pops up several times after closing each one. Then the Gracenotes icon looks like it is
working but delivers a completely odd track label. I propably could live with the in-accurate track info from Gracenotes, but the Windows Installer Error is making my life miserable.
I have just purchased a new Gateway Vista Ready computer.
Anybody else having this problem? Any fix suggestions besides re-installing? I've already done that and it ain't working.

Are you trying to use a music file the you purchased from Napster? These files have DRM and usually can not be used by EMC 9 'as is'. YOu must first burn them to an audio CD USING NAPSTER. Because of the DRM (digital rights management), ONLY Napster can burn these files.
Music ID needs help. You need some info in the filename that it (hopefully) will recgonize as title or artist. Best thing is to manually type what you do know and Music ID can fill in the rest.

No, I am not using a Music file that I purchased from Napster. I am trying to transfer my LP's to digital.
I have never even been to Napster and although my computer came with a 30 day free trial loaded
on the applications I have not opened it. This is a very new computer (about a week old) and the problem
seems to be a "Windows Installer Error", at least that what it says on the top of the window when it pops up.
It only pops up when I try to use the Audio Music ID Tag. Each time I close that window, another one just like it pops up. That happens about 4 times. Then the top left Gracenotes starts doing it's thing.
The pop up window says cannot find "Napster Burn Engine.msi" and then gives me an opportunity to browse and find the file. I've searched my entire computer after each time I re-enstalled my original Gateway software. And the problem still exists.

I called Gatway and found the fix. Napster was installed on my nnew computer. I am not a member of Napster, nor do I plan to be. Gateway suggested I remove the Napster Software under remove or add programs. I did that and the pop up window is gone. The Audio Music Tag starts directly into Gracenotes.
If you are having the same problem, try removing the Napster application. It worked for me.
