When using EMC 9 I can burn music and data to CD’s or DVD’s. I can view disc contents using
EMC 9, I can go through the entire process of making a slideshow, but can not burn the slideshow to a disc, or create a video file of the slideshow. I can save the slideshow,” but can only view it using Easy Media Creator 9.
In the “burn” window my disc drives are recognized, I select “burn,” the encoding dialog box appears and progress never passes 0%
Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Update the drivers for your video card.  Believe it or not, that has solved the problem for many folks.  What video card do you have?

Thanks for your help Bruce,

So far from reading your response and a response from another member I found in another Roxio Community members question, "seyfed," regarding needing to update the driver, I went to the NIVIDIA web site and downloaded the driver - [93.71_forceware_winxpmce_english_whql - the Driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE. ]  I haven't had a chance to try this fix out thoroughly yet, but have been able to create and burn two short slideshows, and "The problem seems resolved."

Thanks again!

Having same problems with the DVD slideshow at 0% progress. My PC is not even a month old, and does burn music files, and have burned DVD disc through Nero 6. My drivers and video cards you speak of should'nt have to be updated should the? If so how is it done, and is it a fairly easy task. Thanks for the help.

The age of the PC (in terms of the length of time you have had it) is a red herring really

The graphics card could be quite 'old' in that it has been on the shelf for x months in the shop, on the shelf in the wholesaler's and as a result the supplied driver disc will be several months old.

To update you will, first of all, need to find out the chipset on the card - the majority will be nVidia or ATI (if it's S3, forget it - that chipset can NOT handle the video). Then, go to the card maker's website, download the latest driver (they're .exe files so you don't need to manually install) and run that.

While you're at it - go to the microsoft website and download and install the latest DirectX 9.0c (december) version
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
