I installed EMC9 3 or 4 days ago and since that time I am experiencing problems getting WinXP Home SP2 to Shut Down.

To effect a Shut Down, I need to go into Windows Task Manager and close from there.

Previously, I had EMC7 but completely uninstalled it before loading EMC9.

Is this a known issue with EMC9? Does anyone have a fix?

Thanks for any suggestions .....

Go to Start/Run, type in msconfig, hit ok, then click on the Startup tab on the next screen, and uncheck Drag to Disc, Roxwatch, and anything else Roxio. Click Apply, then get out, reboot, and test your shutdown again.

To add to waht you have already been told, you must do a manual uninstall of any and all components & files installed by a previous version of EMC. This directions on how this is done can be found in full in the knowledge base. This should solve your issue
