when i "start transfer" it only transfers like 2% of the file,
I've tried about 6 different shows at least 3 times each and so
far only one has transferred all the way and then hasn't worked
since.
restarted both computer and tivo - is there something wrong here?

I am not too computer literate unfortunately.
It says to view this you need a licensed copy of Toast 8,
however I just bought it and have already registered it at
Roxio, so why doesn't it think its licensed?

I'm still only getting partial txfers about 2-4 seconds each before
they are done - they play fine, but just those few seconds.

I've never used Tivo-to-go on Windows, but I can't imagine that the "Tivo" software has this problem or else what's the point of using it?
I was all excited about getting Toast 8 tonight, but it doesn't sound like I should bother.
Good luck everyone.

It is not specific to the mac, nor Toast.
From what has been gathered so far, it started after a software update from Tivo in November(ish).
I'm severely disappointed as well since this was one of the main reasons I upgraded to Toast 8 - as well the the 'page not found' lightscribe support. Really, really makes me regret the upgrade at this point since I haven't gained any functionality and actually seemed to taken a performance hit from the app.

Same problem here. It starts tor ecord and stop as if it were complete at 1.3Mb. I hope they fix this soon, Toast 8 was not cheap.

Manually set the TiVo to record a 5 minute lead-in on the channel you want to record,
eg., the show you want starts on channel X @ 2:00 am. Manually set to record channel X @ 1:55 am to 2:00 am.
This prevents whatever signal that is screwing up the transfer recording. Personally I thought it was my cable box (Scientific American). Anyway this will help unless you are recording back-to-back shows on differenr channels.
Yeah, I know. It sucks. All we can hope is a TiVo fix in a year or two.
Let me know how it works for you.

I actually record a lot of shows from the same channel and not too many of my shows
from other channels overlap.
So this is a pretty good solution. I don't plan to export EVERY show I record anyway.
Thanks!
