Just got new TivoToGo transfer for my macbook Pro,
when i "start transfer" it only transfers like 2% of the file,

I've tried about 6 different shows at least 3 times each and so
far only one has transferred all the way and then hasn't worked
since.

restarted both computer and tivo - is there something wrong here?

ok, so i figured out why, but have no idea how to fix it..
I am not too computer literate unfortunately.

It says to view this you need a licensed copy of Toast 8,

however I just bought it and have already registered it at
Roxio, so why doesn't it think its licensed?

I am having the same problem. The transfer starts and go for about 15 seconds and just quits, no error message, nothing, just quits. I have already registered. I don't get a message about that...it just quits.

HELP!!!

Same problem.  Partial transfer, then transfer stops and TiVo Transfer thinks it's done.  Transfers 14 MB of a 2.3 GB show.  (30 seconds)  Transfers 1.4 MB of a 1.4 GM show.  (About 2 seconds).  I can play all the recordings (all 2 seconds or 30 seconds of them).  Any clues?

Ignore above about licensing, that was not the problem,

I'm still only getting partial txfers about 2-4 seconds each before
they are done - they play fine, but just those few seconds.

same problem here.  it appears to be the channel change (see other posts).  if the tivo box records the channel change, tivo transfers only get the first channel, not the second one, thus, only a few seconds of recording.  poor, especially if it was a known problem.

That's crazy!  Many of my shows I have set to record early and stop late because the network doesn't always play them right on time.  Even if I don't do that Tivo almost always shows the channel change at the very start of the show.  If this is "just the way Tivo works" and Roxio doesn't consider this to be a problem with their software then their software is useless.
I've never used Tivo-to-go on Windows, but I can't imagine that the "Tivo" software has this problem or else what's the point of using it?
I was all excited about getting Toast 8 tonight, but it doesn't sound like I should bother.
Good luck everyone.

:)  Same problem and not too happy with both Tivo or Roxio at this point.  I have sent in a ticket as I am sure everyone else has, but if this is not fixed kinda quickly, I think I will ask for a refund.  These things should have been worked out before the release the other day.

I've got the same issues here and there is a thread over on the Tivo forums about the very same thing - it does appear to be an issue with the Tivo and channel changing in the recordings.

http://forums.tivo.c...nExpertiseCode=

Another thread here

http://forums.tivo.c...nExpertiseCode=

It is not specific to the mac, nor Toast.

From what has been gathered so far, it started after a software update from Tivo in November(ish).

I'm severely disappointed as well since this was one of the main reasons I upgraded to Toast 8 - as well the the 'page not found' lightscribe support. Really, really makes me regret the upgrade at this point since I haven't gained any functionality and actually seemed to taken a performance hit from the app.

Since Toast 8 was released after the Tivo update, this is now Roxio's problem.  It's not like they didn't have time to beta test this and find it out in the first two seconds.  It looks like they rushed this out for the CES/Macworld shows and didn't properly test the software first.

Hello:
Same problem here. It starts tor ecord and stop as if it were complete at 1.3Mb. I hope they fix this soon, Toast 8 was not cheap.

OK. Had/have the same problem, BUT here's a kludge that works:

Manually set the TiVo to record a 5 minute lead-in on the channel you want to record,

eg., the show you want starts on channel X @ 2:00 am. Manually set to record channel X @ 1:55 am to 2:00 am.

This prevents whatever signal that is screwing up the transfer recording. Personally I thought it was my cable box (Scientific American). Anyway this will help unless you are recording back-to-back shows on differenr channels.

Yeah, I know. It sucks. All we can hope is a TiVo fix in a year or two.

Let me know how it works for you.

That's a good tip!
I actually record a lot of shows from the same channel and not too many of my shows
from other channels overlap.
So this is a pretty good solution.  I don't plan to export EVERY show I record anyway.
Thanks!
