I have, last week, bought and installed EMC9 plus the Contents disc (Contents Disc = 300++MB on my h/d).

I am disappointed in the number of templates available for creating DVDs.

What exactly is included on the contents disc?

When I choose a DVD Menu Style, do I get all possible options from the installed Contents disc by default?

Also, why is EMC9 such a terrible resource-hog?

I used EMC7.5 before and never experienced the huge drain on system resources that I experience with 9. It is a real shocker!

Finally .... even though I have 'Enable email notification of replies' checked .... I do not get email notifications! Any ideas why?

Thanks for all comments and replies .....

The Content disc holds more than just stuff for MyDVD. There are also templates for PhotoSuite 9 like calendars and greetings cards, etc. There should be a total of 34 MyDVD styles which is more generous than other apps I have used. Plus you can create your own and save them for later use.

After the first boot, Media Manager will index ALL of your media files (video and audio). If you have a lot, it will indeed slow your computer down until it is finished. You can stop this process by RIGHT mouse clicking on the 'watched folders' icon in the systray. Select stop. You can premanently disable this feature in Media Manager or if you don't use Media Manager, the option to uninstall it.

The Content disc handles not only the themes but things like Label art and templates for Photosuite and the like. You don't have to install it.
The drain may be after you install and due to the Roxwatch file in start up. It can be turned off if you wish.
