well this is turning into a nightmare. I did the software rendering...got a disc out (had a different error..which I still might have but I can't get to that point now) Now today...I imported a new movie....went to edit it..and now I"m getting a 80004003 error.

.\IPEBase.cpp (3702) *** Error NULL = pDrawp

After I got this error...I saw the post about a new Direct X so I installed that...it didn't change a thing

however. All drivers are up to date.

Are all these problems in version 8? cause I found that disc today....

Did you check the other posts in the search to see what was tried?

I see in your sig you question your Dell 410. Is there a problem with the system other than the error you get in Roxio?

well...I bought this machine to do video editing. I have Pinacle Studio 9 and was having an issue with that.....so I bought roxio version 8 and 9 and now I can't do anything with it.....both were "cleared" by dell to run with their machine.....at least in theory. I"m losing money with all these errors....not to mention the nearly 3K I shelled out for what I thought would be a good machine. At least on my toshiba laptop I could make a dvd...now I can't do anything.

I've tried everything that I saw in the posts I searched. I'm probably going to have to try some other software.....and beg roxio for a refund. It came with the dell (not version 9, the LE (which didn't work either)) so I woudl assume it should run on teh machine.

well I did a factory restore on the machine...and then loaded ver 9....just to see if anything I may have added was a problem. Well..I didn't get this 80004003 error yet......but I am still getting the other error when rendering. BTW the software looks......different. When I edit the movie....it's just....different...looks like version 8 in fact....but it's ver 9...not sure what's going on there...

I"m going to do my work...get it out....then just see about returning the software and/or the computer...cause I can't seem to use it. thanks everyone for your help.

Did you factory restore have an already pre-installed version of Roxio or Sonic on it? If so, that should be removed.

yes that was removed...along with the Dell Cineplayer. The dell cin came up as a non compatible program when I installed version 8....so I removed it this time.
