Drag to Disc

The main Creator feature I enjoy (with DVD+RW) is using explorer to manage files on the disc. THe DVD+RW can be treated like a hard disk and no special program needs to be run and no "burn" command needs to be issued to copy files to the disc. I believe this functionality is part of "Drag to Disc."
Alas, many other features of this product are buggy (e.g. it does not recognize DVD+R DL discs in my LG Super Multi burner) and I would like to replace it, possibly with Nero.
Does Nero Support this kind of feature and where should I look for it? How about other programs?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Packet writing is not recommended for anything beyond a quick transfer from one computer to another (and even then flash drives are better). The number of cases you can see on this forum of people who lost data because they used it is mind-boggling.
Apart from that - RW discs are amorhous - the substrate will level out and there goes your data.
Far better to use standard one-off -R or +R discs even though you can't add to them - they don't cost that much and in using standard burning, they will last far longer

Maybe you confused these forums with some other forum. Why would anyone in a Roxio forum tell you anything about Nero? Go to the Nero forums and ask.

I most appreciate your feedback. I have wondered at reliability - I wish this was more common knowledge. I will be careful to have it as quick temporary backup.
Are the +R DL reliable?
grandpabruce,
Yes I've posted in both forums. I figured I spent my $$ and have eraned both getting good feedback like gi7omy's and in the process letting readers know other's experiences. I wasn't ragging - I've been using Easy CD creator for more years than I can remember and it's sad that this product isn't quite there for many of us. If I hear they've released updates that make it a solid product, perhaps I will try it again.

An update should be coming shortly. At least I hope it is.

DL would seem to be an expensive way of doing it since if all you are doing is creating back up, you can span several discs.
Nero has a user forum now? It must be pretty new. Do you mean their support e-mail section? Makes me wonder about your posts.

Edited [there are public forums for Nero] I was referring to that site.
It's true that I can span several discs for cheaper. I have always had an aversion to multiple discs; seems like it doubles the chances for a bad disc and lost data.

There is no reason to think DL media is any less reliable than other R media. But it has only been out a couple of years and since time will issue the ultimate judgment, too early to tell.
CD-R's have a long history of success followed by DVD R media. Can anyone [b]say for sure[/I] that BlueRay is reliable for long term storage?
When I use optical media, I still manually adjust my Classic projects so that they do not exceed one disc. Lately I have been using external HDs or even internal HDs to store large amounts of data. I remove the internal drives and park them out of harms way.
