I used creator classic to load data onto a cd-rw which I then tried to load into my wife's computer. We both have pentium 4 XP home edition. Her computer rejected the cd with a message that the format could not be read by windows. What could be the reason for this?

What type of files did you save? Did you select Data Disc? Did you check the cd-rw on your computer to see if you could read it?

Iused creator classic rather than data disc, my computer recognised the disk, one file was a word.doc, the other a copy of a utility. Could it be that roxio is not loaded on her computer?

It could be that when you burned the disc that you didn't have the box checked under options that says "read only".That should close the disc so it can be read on other computers.

You use Creator Classic TO BURN A DATA DISC. If you used Drag to Disc, that would explain why the other computer could not read it.

Launch Creator Classic
On the left side under PROJECTS, click DATA DISC
To the right, select your files and drag them to the lower pane
Click Burn.

A disc burned this way should be readable by any computer. If you check 'Read Only', that closed the disc so nothing more can be written to it.
