I would like to know if Toast 8 can PROPERLY copy a Dual Layer video DVD. These are personal DVDs created using iDVD. My understanding is that you should not typically copy a Dual Layer video DVD because the layer break will not be respected during the copy. I am wondering if Toast 8 can do this.
Note that I am not looking to re-encode the video. I am just looking to make exact duplicates with the layer break intact.
Thanks.

I would like an answer to this as well. I am currently downloading the version 8 software and will attempt a copy of a DL to another DL. I have been slow to use the DL disks as I didn't make back-ups of the disks as they were too expensive when they first were released. Now that the prices are falling, I hope to be able to use Toast for the archiving of those disks. Will let the forum know when my tests are finished.

Well I finished the copy and checked it out. It works fine with the layer break intact. I does take some time with the extra amount of info a DL can hold, but just make sure the check box for compress to 4.7 disk is turned off.
Enjoy the new version.
