Thanks so much for your help. I have a deadline to have this finished this weekend and I'm about to go crazy!

Grammy, that slide show (assistant) in MyDVD doesn't allow for a lot of options so you can't just extend the length of those last two slides. If you don't have a lot of work in the project, and you really need to have the images display longer, now is the time to become familiar with VideoWave where you can adjust the duration of each of the images and of the transitions (within limits).
I'm assuming that you have EMC V8 and have the two step slide show assistant. If you have the stand alone version, do you get the three step assistant or do you get Video Wave?

I have placed 132 images and the soundtracks in the program. Everything went well with that. The last two "photos" are text that needs to be read, so I need them to hold longer to allow for reading, probably 8-10 seconds each. It doesn't matter if there is music in the background or not for those two slides.
If this "hold" can't be done in MyDVD (or wherever I've already done it) how difficult would it be to transfer the slideshow to the program you mentioned, VideoWave? Can you assist me with that, if I end up having to redo everything?
I appreciate your help very much!

I'm not sure that you can do an automatic transfer of that slide show project from MyDVD to Video Wave. There was a way in earlier versions but I don't think that works now. Perhaps someone else has an idea.
If you have any amount of text on a slide that is more than what you would normally use as a title, it may not be readable ( it is converted to a movie format) Consider making two or even three slides of the text to get the visual quality up and the time to read the slide.
You find that Video Wave operates pretty much like the Slide Show Assistant in MyDVD. It is only slightly more complicated . You add your images to a series of blocks in the storyline view, set the timing for the slides (universal and/or change it for one of the slides), add text where you want it - scrolling in your case. add transitions, switch to timeline view and add the music and move it to where you want it to start/stop using two different audio tracks. Take a look at the tips and tricks in the V9 board; the process in the two versions is essentially the same especially if you have the EMC 8 deluxe suite.
In VideoWave, creating a color panel and then adding scrolling text may be a better way of having more text on a slide and still have the visual quality.

Thanks again for helping,
I made a short test DVD using Video Wave, just to see how it works and if I'd be able to figure it out quickly. I have photos inserted and saw where to add the transitions and duration individually. But, since I want all but the last two shots to be equal in length, and I want them to all have the same transition and all to pan and zoom--is there a way to choose all for these and then add the last two slides with text with different duration and music?
I really appreciate your expertise. I'm not real computer literate, but I'm trying hard to learn!

I figured out how to select all photos to have the same transition and how to make them all the same duration--then I added the last text slide for my test DVD and made the duration on it longer!
Now, I still need to find out how to make them all pan and zoom. Is there a way to choose this for all except the last text slide without having to manually do each photo?
I really appreciate your help. I think I'll start another message to see if someone knows an easy way to import all the photos from MyDVD to the Video Wave instead of having to do them one by one (and take a chance of losing my sequence since I already have the photos timed to match the words in the music).
Thanks again. I'm looking forward to your response about the pan and zoom!

Thanks so much for the info and the link to the tips site. You have some great info there and I'm definately going to use that for the scrolling text on the last slides of my DVD! I really appreciate all your help! I've posted the other two questions in seperate posts since you've already helped me figure out I need to use Video Wave. I've been working on a sample DVD in Videowave today and it's coming along!
Thanks again,

In storyline mode, highlight all pictures (I believe Ctrl+A should work) that you want to apply the Pan & Zoom. Then right click an image. Choose "Apply Auto Motion". Preview the production if Pan & Zoom has been applied to all.

Skinis, I ended up just having the text slides stand still instead of scroll due to the length of the sound track. It worked out fine that way since there wasn't much text. Thanks though for the instructions on scrolling. I will definately use it on my next project.
