Mixer is Null

Help!
I have spent hours and hours on my slideshow project in my dvd. I have 115 pictures in the project, a few songs, and transitions. I am 75% done and now when I go into edit mode an error comes up saying mixer is null. Does anyone know what this means? It isn't allowing me to procede with the project. I am also doing this on my laptop. I had saved my work on a CD so I uninstalled the easymediacreator8 and reinstalled, but still get the same message when I bring my project up from the Cd. Please help me... this is a gift, and I am running out of time.
Thank you!

Hello,
Thank you for the response. I did also go to that link and install it, but afterwards EMC8 totally froze up and then a new message came up saying video wave has encountered a problem and has to shut down. Everytime I opened EMC8 after that install it immediately shut down. This is when I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I found a link that said to erase the last photos that were uploaded, and this worked for a while, but after about 30 min. I got the error message mixer is null again. Is this just normal to happen all the time? I'm wondering if it is because I'm on my laptop. I can get around the error now but I would like to prevent it from happening. If you have any other advice please let me know.
Thank you,
Sommer

Out of curiosity - did you install Windows Media Player 11 and/or Internet Explorer 7?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

I'm not sure..Is there a way I can check?
Open Windows Media Player, go to Help>About and check out the version number. Do the same for Internet Explorer.

Since you just post your problems and never answer them, it is pretty hard to help you. Slow down and answer the questions that are asked of you. I know you are on a deadline but running here and there without really understanding what you are doing will not let you meet the deadline.
Now a little philosophy (forgive me)
Shakespeare once wrote: Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.
or Casey Stengel on the Yanks :The team has come along slow but fast.
I think this applies here.
