Do not drag VOB files into the Toast video window. If those files are in a VIDEO_TS folder (where they should be) then choose DVD video from VIDEO_TS as the format and select the VIDEO_TS folder. Next, click the options button where you can choose which titles in the VIDEO_TS that you want to burn to a new DVD.

More information, please. What brand of DL media are you using? Most DL DVD drives only work reliably with Verbatim DVD+R DL media.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I recommed burning DL media at the 2X (actually 2.4X speed). The media costs too much to take chances with failed burns just to save a few minutes. Also, a good idea is choosing Save as Disc Image from the File menu instead of clicking the burn button. Then burn the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window to your DL media. This reduces the chance of failed burns.

Mate when I look in the folder the Video TS folder isn't there, I can only find it when I go into the HD and locate it and can drag it into toast. That seems to mean I can't get a successful burn though!

Well the DVD seemed to burn but no sound in IDVD when I played back. I saved the Video_TS folder to the sektop then selected the Video_TS folder from the desktop in Toast. down on the bottom right next to the burn button i selected DVD video. Then I went up to file and selected as you described.

Still don't seem to be getting a proper copy.

I'm a little confused by what it is you're starting with. Does the source video play okay with DVD Player? Is it on a DVD or is it a VIDEO_TS on your hard drive? It is helpful to know what kind of audio the source has. When you add the VIDEO_TS to Toast there is a "Copy summary" that appears. How does that summary describe the audio?

Hi mate, The DVD did actually burn okay onto the disc with sound, just had it turned down -doh!

The source was a Video TS file on the HD that i was trying to get onto a DVD disc. Seemed to work when I used the file menu then followed your instructions.
Now I have to work ou the set up to make a menu page and chapters at the start and title the disc as it's called - untitled. Think I've still got a bit to learn about TOAST.

Ahhh, the volume control....

When testing out different Toast features I always choose Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button and taking the chance of wasting a disc. When the disc image is complete you can mount it (there's an item to do this in the Toast Utilities menu or you can control click on the disc image in the Finder and choose Mount It from the contextual menu). DVD Player will launch and you can preview the disc image. If it is the way you like, then burn the disc image file itself to DVD using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.
