What format does my 5.1 audio need to be to show up as Dolby Digital? DVDitProHD says it supports Dobly Digital but doesn't recocnize my AC3 file to import.... Any suggestions? thanks

It works, Rotor-Head. It may be your file is not correct.
Try to go to this website and get some .ac3 samples and test them in your project.
