I have Easy Creator 8. I bought the software from a local store. I was trying to set up scheduled back-up of the designated files thru the wizard. Thie wizard requires password protection and I want the back-up w/o password protection. The option window supposed to uncheck the password protection. The window staes the options require upgrade and and trying to sell suite 9.
The live chat told me that I need to have Delux version and I did not see the delux version. There is a downloadable file for the 8 called EMC80_805 upgrade. The update will not install stating either something is missing on the installtion or the version is not campatible with the update.
Where do I go from here?
Has Roxio sold me a half-cooked software? The schedule Back-up is a problem. What gurantee I have that Delux version does not have similar bugs?
Overall, I am dis-appointed with this software. I usually use another sosftware for sound recording for copying data and/or music now. Roxoi has lot of nice features. If they are easily usable - then the software has no value.
Will somebody drop me a note to this ID and let me know what are my options?
e-mail deleted for your sanity.- unless of course you love spam.
Thanks.
There is a free 30 day trail of version of V9 lower on these boards; try that to see if it will do what you want. . If you bought V8 suite recently; it is already updated so that link will give you that message.
If you are just looking for back up software,
you may want to look at one of these. or perhaps one that is specifically designed to do the backup rather than a suite of programs.
BTW, I don't know if what live chat told you is correct. Perhaps someone else will post regarding the pass word protction.
