EMC 8 on Windows XP x64 Pro
Download an ISO file to hard drive and want to burn the ISO to disc. I 've accomplished this in Windows Explorer a couple of times by right-clicking and sending file to D: drive (Drag to Disc)
But I want to know if there is a way to use the Roxio EMC software to do this?
Every time I try to use Disc Copier or Creator Classic functions to Burn or Save the image to disc, it unpacks the files from the ISO image onto the disc, which I don't want. I want the ISO image on the disc.
I've read the manual and searched support and forums many times and don't see any results for EMC 8. The results I have found for EMC 7 speak of buttons and options that I don't have in 8.
If anyone has the correct procedures, I would appreciate knowing what they are.
TIA
Rick

Oh, you want to burn a data file. Try Creator Classic and choose Data Disc as the project.

HI
I just went through this trying to make a disk that would boot Norton Ghost.
I believed that I needed the final disk to have an .iso file on it to boot but when I made a disk using "Copy" "Disk Image" it made a disk that had the contents of the .iso file one it not the .iso file.
What I discovered was that the disk that I made with the files on it booted my computer and started Norton Ghost even though it had no .iso file on it, itself.
The only catch was that this didn't work using Easy CD Creator 8, I don't know why.
I downloaded a free program called DeepBurner and used that.
The disks appeared to be exactly alike but the ones made with DeepBurner booted and the ones made with Easy CD Creator 8 didn’t.
I hope this helps you; I spent a week working on this.
Mike
