I have burned DVDs from files recorded on a Series 2 Tivo, and they look fine on my regular Sony TV. But the quality of the playback on my HD Toshiba TV is poor and there is no audio. The picture seems to be broken up into lines. Is this just what I should expect since the data just isn't there? I have read through my TV manual thinking that there should be some way to adjust the HDTV to play these DVDs. Please forgive me if this is stupid question.

Are you using the same DVD player for both TVs? Your description suggests that the DVD player connected to the HDTV player is having trouble reading the disc. This could be due to bad media. Test with another brand of DVD media.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

It is with a different DVD player. I tried switching players and now the HDTV is fine. I looked in the manual for my Toshiba DVD player and it says "You cannot play discs of CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-RAM. DVD-RW, etc. ...". So I guess that's the problem. Why is that? I'm surprised since I thought the Toshiba was a fairly high-end player and the other one is a cheap Sanyo from Walmart.
