burning failure

Using titanium v.5.1.2. on LaCie external disk. After beginning burn process on to Fujifim DVD-r disc program stopped with following "Failed because comunication to the disc failed(Error Code 0x80020022). Has media failed? This is second different disk burning attempt. I believe the first failure was similarly worded. Any suggestions will be appreciated

It is most likely defective media or an incompatibility between the media and the drive's firmware. Download LaCie's most recent firmware for the drive. Burn at a slow speed. Try different media. Hopefully one of those suggestions will cure the problem.
