MyDVD 9 won't let me add avi files (with DIVX codec)

This has got to be some kind of bug. If anyone has information on how to fix My DVD9 so that you can add DIVX avi files, please let me know.

Thanks for posting this issue as I have the same one as well. I did go to the link provided in the above response. I made sure to follow the directions very carefully, but the outcome was the same...unable to import any AVI files (Divx). Here is my question:
Should the Divx codec be the only divx codec in System 32? I do see other .ax files. Is this ok? Looking forward to your help.

There are a few other Divx*.ax files in my System32 folder.

I also had some problems when first following the directions gibven by MTolman, and reported how I fixed those (see UPDATE section of my post).
XP Pro SP3 , IE 8, WMP 11, all updates. Creator 2011 Pro.
