When attempting to render a Digital AVI format movie in VideoWave that has been created from Cinemagic, I received the popup "Unable to create the render graph". All other render formats work fine.

On-line help suggested that one of the components was not properly registered. I re-registered the component to no avail. Several other things were tried (uninstall, re-install, drivers of every kind ..etc).

The problem can be worked around.

If you remove all of the transitions and then replace them manually, everything is fine. This problem does not appear to be documented anywhere else, so I though I would post it here for anyone else unfortunate enough to run across it. It took me the better part of a day putzing around to figure it out.

This particular Cinemagic production was shorter than the song and a warning was given that the footage should be 2 times as long as the song. This may or may not have anything to do with the issue.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like a video card problem. Does CineMagic use any 3D transitions? What type of video card do you have? Have you updated the drivers and do you have the latest DirectX 9?

Thanks for the reply Russel.

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb with the latest drivers installed (I re-installed just to be sure before I posted this time).

I am running DX 9.0c

It is a short CineMagic clip using the "Sports" template. It has one explode transition and the rest are disolves.

I have re-created this issue from scratch again just to be certain of what I have said.

Again, the cure seems to be to apply a transition theme to overwrite the existing transitions. After this is done, the video will render just fine...... wierd.
