Will,

did you try to burn a BD image or volume instead?  can you point your temp location to c: and see if that does anything as well?  thanks.  we'll keep on trying to crack this for you.

From the "Burn" pulldown menu, select "volume" or "image" instead of disc.  if it can write one of those formats you can subsequently create a working DVD by burning the volume or image to a disc.  if it does work with one of those then we are having an issue with your burner.  if not, it is something else.

Did you have any luck, Will? Cause I'm experiencing the exact same problem :)

Here's my setup:
°harware: Athlon64 3200 (@2ghz), 1GB ddr, x1600 256MB video card, win xp pro sp2

°project settings:
- File Name: C:\DVD_Projects\PansLab\PansLab.dvd-dvi
- Project Size: 1.46MB
- Size on DVD: 4GB
- No Copy protection or Region Coding
- Custom SD Transcoding: Video - CBR - Target Bitrate=4096

°Preferences:
- Temporary Storage: C:\DVD_Temp

° Directories used for my project:
- C:\DVD_Builds ==> for my dvd iso's or volumes
- C:\DVD_Images ==> images used in my projects
- C:\DVD_Projects ==> my project files
- C:\DVD_Temp ==> my temporary files
- C:\DVD_Video ==> video files used in my projects

°DVD structure:
- Menu: 2 menus: an avi (divx) as First Play and an Image with two text buttons and background music as the base menu.
- Titles: 3 movie files
- Playlists: a playlist with two items pointing to two of the above Titles. The playlist is linked with one of the above Text Buttons. Clicking the button, plays the playlist.
- 2 Subtitle tracks.

° Extra info:
- Simulating works nicely. No problems there.
- Burning to a Disk Image or Volume, gives that darn error: "Pathname is invalid -19005."
- I've tried lowering the bitrate (4096 is the lowest i lowered it to, though) leaving more breathing space on the disk or disk image, but to no avail.
- I did try a test project with a tiny video file (a couple of megs), and that one did burn with no problem.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, i doubt it, because there seems to be a bit of progress in this problem.
Today i deleted one of the 2 parts that make up the movie, and low and behold, I was able to create an image!

But i still don't know why it wont work with the clips that i want. Is it because there's more space left on the dvd image? (cause when i delete when part, there's like 2GB of space left)? I don't know, but it should't.

I'll update if there's more progress.

are you using program or elementary streams for your clips?  I'm wondering because I was having EOF issues but when I used elementary streams they seem to go away.  Maybe there might be some issue when DVDit tries to demux the clip.

I'm having this same problem again -- pathname is invalid - 19005.

With Scott's excellent help, I overcame this once and did burn a disc that plays on the Pansonic player, but it wouldn't show the menu.  Scott suggested a short blank clip (black title in this case) with an end action to go to the menu.  It works great in the simulation, but my project hasn't burned since.

I can't recall or find the specifics of what made the software work once, I think Scott and I talked about it over the phone, but something did work.   But it really shouldn't quit working, all I did was add another movie clip like Scott suggested and that killed it, even with that clip removed again no burning.

I tried putting the two movie files into the project folder's subfolder "video" (within subfolder sources) before "adding movies."

This required completely redoing the project, but I couldn't be making it any easier for the software to find the video files, they are in the folder the program has made for them.

I don't expect to hear from anyone at Roxio (Scott) over the weekend, but any ideas from fellow sufferers who've solved this problem would be appreciated.
