Looks like I've gone and done it now. :)

Cleared out the Roxio/VideoU19/Proxy folder as it had over 3GB of stuff in it. (thought I'd free up some Hard Drive space)

Opened EMC9 but nothing opens from the Home page.

Everything I try to open results in a Runtime Error.

e.g. When trying to open MyDVD I get an error message which says "Unable to load skin" then I goes back to Home page.

When trying to open Videowave the error message I get is;-

R6025-pure virtual function call in Program C:\ProgramFiles\Roxio\VideoCore\VCGProxyFileManager9.exe

Is it time to "fall upon my sword".

Help...........................................................

It affects anything I try to open in Video & Photo.

I get the Microsoft Error which confirms "VCG Proxy File Manager 9" as the error.

Thanks.

Couldn't see anything relating to my problem.

What is this "Unable to load skin" error message?

Lets cut to the chase............. does anybody reckon a "Repair Install" might be the answer.

I'm bloody mad because my "tinkering" has f****d it up. :)

You could try this, even though it mentions Photosuite. One poster hat the problem that you had and solved it with the steps in the following URL.

Checked that route but no luck.

MSCONFIG has everything enabled except "Hard Drive Watch" which has always been disabled.

There is no entry for "VCGProxyFileManager.exe".

All I did was clear out the Roxio/VideoU19/Proxy folder and it has resulted in this "cock up". :)

Repair or Uninstall/Reinstall?

I would try the Repair route. I clear out my Proxy files all of the time and have never had a problem. I suspect something else has introduced the problem.

Thanks for that.

Can you remind me how to "Repair"?

Go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down To EMC 9, and select the Change button. You can follow the prompts from there.

Did a "Repair Install" and it appears to have worked. :)
