I'm making a DVD from .avi files and it converted ok, it's at the writing screen now and the bar has stayed empty for about 2 hours, is it just going really really slow or is something wrong?

How long is the video? 2 hours is not ridiculous but if the bar is not moving, there might be a problem. Is there hard drive activity?
Make sure your hard drive is defragged and that you're not running anything while it's doing it's business.
